DI Celebrated Norwegian Women’s Suffrage Centenary

A delegation of Defend International attended the International Conference: Women, Power and Politics – The Road to Sustainable Democracy at the Radisson Blue Scandinavia Hotel on 14-15 November 2013. During this splendid ceremony that highlighted the Norwegian Women’s Suffrage Centenary, Dr. Widad, co-founder of Defend International, had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland, former prime minister of Norway, Dr. Shirin Ebadi, 2003 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, and Ms. Sanam Anderlini, co-founder of the International Civil Society Action Network.

DI and Erbil International Marathon for Peace

Under the slogan “We’ll Run Together For Peace,” nearly seven thousand runners from about 55 countries participated in Erbil International Marathon for Peace on 25 October 2013. Aiming to promote peace and tolerance, DI members participated in this event, and DI coordinator in Kurdistan region did a tremendous job in taking part in arranging and documenting the event.

Geneva: Global NGO-Survey 2010/11

The results of the “2010 Global NGO-Survey,” in which Defend International (DI) took part, are made available by Dr. Daniel Schwenger. The findings are meant to help NGOs better adapt their strategy in a context of increasing competition. Now, DI has been invited to participate in a follow-up survey titled The “2013 Global NGO Survey,” which aims to compare the trends and outlooks in the NGO sector over an extended period of time.
