A “price list” for Yazidi and Christian females was issued last year by the so-called Islamic State’s Office of Money House. Just 24 hours after its release, Defend International Team was able to verify the authenticity of the document and a screenshot was posted on twitter by DI co-founder Dr. Widad, sparking a debate that lasted for almost a year. The same document has now been confirmed as genuine by the UN’s Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Sexual Violence in Conflict.

Dr. Widad was awarded the 2014 International Pfeffer Peace Award for her worldwide work for peace and justice. Listed as the first Scandinavian citizen, the third European citizen and the first Kurd to receive a Pfeffer Peace Prize, she dedicated her award to the Yazidis, the Christians, and residents of Kobane.
