Dr. Widad Akreyi extended her gratitude to Ms. Rachael Harder, Member of Parliament for Lethbridge, for supporting the Yazidis and asking the Canadian government to acknowledge the heinous acts committed by ISIS against the Yazidis and others as genocide.

After a lengthy and difficult review of incidences of violence against children perpetrated in the MENA region during 2015, DI Monitoring Committee agreed to highlight three cases on the impact of gun violence on children in Jordan, Egypt and Iraq.

Dr. Widad sent her heartfelt condolences and sympathies to ALL families and victims affected by the Beirut attacks and the Paris attacks.
