Defend International co-founder Dr Widad was invited as a gust speaker to an event held at Falster Hotel by Rotary International in Denmark. Dr Widad Welcomed European Convention Against Human Trafficking
In February 2008, the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings became legally binding. Dr. Widad welcomed the entry into force of the Convention, noting that this is a major step forward in the fight against this modern form of slavery.
