Human rights activist and high school teacher Mr. Ferzad Kamanger has been arrested for unspecified reasons for more than one year. His family and lawyer have not been allowed to meet him. Mr. Kamanger is suffering from haemorrhage and has been subjected to torture. Consequently he sustained severe injuries to his left leg.

In a joint campaign, Defend International and The Observatory urge the authorities of Bahrain to put an end to all forms of harassment, including at the judicial level, against Mr. Mohamed Al-Maskati and all members of the Bahrain Youth Society for Human Rights.
