DI member organisation: The Democratic Organization for National Office of Drinking Water has arranged the following events:

  • First: the victims of violence from the excessive use of force by security forces in Morocco are invited to share their experiences and the brutal crackdown in which security forces deliberately used arms against unarmed civilians – acts which has caused them not only permanent disability but also long term trauma.

At the end of the hearing, an appeal will be sent to the authorities to urge them to respect guidelines that prohibit the use of arms and weapons against peaceful demonstrators.

 

  • Second: symposium on gun violence and recommendations to combat SALW proliferation and misuse as a key element of national strategy on arm control.

Defend International In Tunisia

DI member Mr. Hasnaoui Adnen has shared a summary of the situation in Tunisia in terms of arm control measures. Tunisia has established a legal framework governing the acquisition of small arms, which prohibits the circulation of arms among civilians.
