On 25 November 2009, during a press conference held in Beirut, Defend International members reviewed the major problems faced by women who are unable to bestow their nationality on their children and husbands.
From 25 November to 10 December, human rights groups worldwide celebrated the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence” Campaign, which is dedicated this year to the 10th anniversary of the United Nations’ formal recognition of November 25th as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
On this occasion, Defend International joins its members and partners to promote every woman’s right to a just and healthy life, lived in freedom and without fear of violence or discrimination.
