DI Defender Mr. Adham Tobail held seminars and meetings for youth, students and women in the Occupied Territory, in cooperation with other civil society organisations.
Overview
The Global Week of Action initiative calls upon activists to raise awareness on the issue of small arms proliferation around the world and campaign for greater regulation of the arms trade. The week will be celebrated around the world, and civil society activists will be demonstrating that they are “thinking globally and acting locally”. While Defend International in Europe will hold an event in Copenhagen, DI member organisations and DI Defenders will be arranging events across the Middle East and North Africa region.
Defend International in Gaza
On the occasion of the “Global Week of Action Against Gun Violence,” DI Defender Mr. Adham Tobail held seminars and meetings for youth, students and women in Gaza Strip in cooperation with other civil society organisations. These are very important events because the illegal proliferation of small arms in that region is a big challenge for civilians. Until now the problem has shown no signs of ending.
Thinking globally but acting locally, DI Defenders are arranging several events celebrating this week.
